Alfa II Squad: Part 3
by Gabe Rogers
Don’t touch anything without permission. I walked to a panel, placed my hand on it, opened a door, walked inside and got in an armor suit. I came out and gave Ivan one, picked up a shotgun, a turret, a missile pod, an m-17, and gave Ivan a dry Z.3-X, magnum. After he got his armor on we got jet-packs, closed the Armory and raced back to his barrack.
I came in first and waited, panting, for Ivan. We went down the hole. When we reached the bottom we turned on our night vision built into our helmets. We walked in a small tunnel for about fifteen minutes when we heard something scampering across the tunnel behind us. We both turned around and instantly and pulled out our guns. I told Ivan to cover me, and I went toward the sound about three steps forward. We heard the same sound from both directions. I pulled out my turret and shot at the sound until I had to reload. It stopped, and we kept walking. We didn’t hear it again. The only thing we heard was an eerie moaning.
We heard someone calling, “Hello? Anyone out there?”
“Yes.” I replied. And ran straight to the sound. When I reached the sound we found that it was a person who had the same armor as us.
“Hey were you put on this mission too?” he asked.
“No, we came here because whatever did this wrecked the barracks,” I shot Ivan a stern look.
“Well I am.” replied Ivan.
“Oh… then where did you get that AR?”
“We got it at my place” I said before he could finish.
“Aye, I’m Private Conner.”
“I’m Captain Rogers, call me Harlock.”
“Wait, where did you get that rank” Ivan asked.
“Six years in military training, remember; I trained you.” I replied.
“Oh sorry.”
We left the cave and came back 3 days and 10 hours later. The tunnel opened into a huge cavern and in the center was a large building that looked a lot like an asylum.
“I don’t remember it being like this at all it was not like this.” I said.
All was silent except for our footsteps. Nowhere to go… the only way was to go inside. Once we did, the door slammed shut, plunging the room in total darkness, and we turned our flashlights on. We walked many halls and walked by many cells.
“Hello, anyone h-” Ivan tried to say but before he could finish, out of one cell a hand shot out and grabbed him by the arm, and I opened fire on it until we were sure it was dead.
“God, wh-wh-wh-what- what was that?”
“I have no idea”
